Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle Cell Disease describes a group of inherited red blood cell disorders. Since this disease is genetically passed down at birth, it cannot be prevented. Sickle cell disease is a life-long illness. The severity of the disease varies widely from person to person. The symptoms that come along with these disorders can be controlled and their severity can be decreased with proper care. These activities will educate you on what the disease is, what the symptoms are, and how to ensure a lessened effect through proper care.
